The science of making water from air
The most abundant source of fresh water is the Earth’s atmosphere. When atmospheric humidity condenses, it falls as rain. Akvo® replicates this natural process of condensation by simulating the dew point, which allows it to make water continuously, even in low humidity conditions. Our unique technology uses optimised dehumidification techniques to extract and condense moisture in the air to produce healthy, purified drinking water.

What is air-to-water technology?
Air-to-water technology is the process of converting water vapor in the air (humidity) to water. Akvo atmospheric water generators replicates this natural process of condensation by simulating the dew point, which allows it to make water continuously, even in low humidity conditions.
How do Akvo air-to-water machines make water?
There’s approximately 3100 cubic miles (mi3) or 12,900 cubic kilometers (km3) of water in the atmosphere. Water vapor is an unlimited resource constantly replenished by nature’s hydrologic cycle. Akvo atmospheric water generators can extract water from air indefinitely without impacting the planet.
What are the best conditions to make water?
The two key ingredients to make water are humidity and temperature. For the best results, it’s important that your machine be located in a well-ventilated area. Ideal operating conditions are a temperature between 21º C to 32º C and relative humidity between 40% to 100%.
What happens when there’s low humidity in the air?
When the humidity is low, all air to water machines are challenged. Akvo machines are not designed for dry or cold climates and are not marketed there. Generally there are some days with low humidity even in ideal regions of the world.
What is the warranty?
Akvo atmospheric water generators have a 1 year limited manufacturer warranty. Your local distributor offers regular maintenance and service plans.
What is the lifespan of Akvo atmospheric water generators?
With proper maintenance Akvo atmospheric water generators can operate for several years. Comparable to the life of a car or major appliance, the Akvo atmospheric water generator should last from 10 – 15 years. There are very few moving parts. The lifespan of the machines will depend primarily on the maintenance of the compressor.
What are the power requirements for Akvo atmospheric water generators ?
The Akvo’s 1000 LPD Machine runs on approximately 7 -10 kilowatts per hour. It operates on 50hz or 60hz and either 208 – 240V (single phase) or 380 – 440V (3-phase). This power can be supplied directly or from a generator for portability.
How does the Akvo atmospheric water generator filter impurities from the air?
Akvo atmospheric water generators are equipped with an antimicrobial air filter to remove impurities from the air. The water is further purified in later stages of the process with Ozone.
